Tungsten carbide overlay is an additional product offered from Nibrock. The process is identical to our regular cladding, but we add crushed tungsten to the weld puddle while it is still in the molten state during the welding process. This gives it an even distribution of granulated tungsten carbides suspended in a chromium matrix. In the right application tungsten will outlast the cladded wear plate 2 to 1. This process is ideal for small parts and problem areas.
